As I told you guys before I have found a "fix" for my laptop's fans not going fast when needed (Putting in Stand-by/Sleep Mode and Waking it up), But is it normal to be having these temps at regular usage?:

Thanks for any feedback,

That does seem a bit warm if that is idle, unless ambient temperature is around 90F or so. However, the CPUs placed in Laptops are rated for higher temperatures. Intel's CPUs are safe all the way up to 100c. AMD - about the same, but I don't believe they publish their thermal specs. I guess what I would do is verify your CPU fans are clean (they get gunked up easy) and try and do some video encoding for a few hours to see if the laptop breaks into the triple digits for temperature. My guess is that it will hit around 90c or so under load and hover right around there. Nothing to worry about if that is the case.

just asking.... are the laptop bios and chipset drivers and management drivers all up to date?
And, do you have access to a kitchen thermometer, the kind with the long slender probe (no alien abduction jokes, please)?? It might be a good idea to get a second opinion on what the real temps are; AMD has a bit of a history of mis-reporting CPU temps. -
If i were to play a game such as Halo PC, Trackmania, or Counter-Strike: Source, I always hit the triple digits, and if it wasn't for the sleeping trick my laptop would shutdown within 10 mins due to overheating to save itself,
@Newsposter I've updated everything as HP has told me to and all my drivers are straight from nVidia and HP. Also I don't think it's a mis-reading because they are usually correct as I can Feel it getting hotter and hotter as i Play and the temperatures get higher and higher, even if it was 5C off, Wouldn't make much a different I just needed to clarify if these are normal. -

What do you consider regular usage? What are the ambient temps the computer is been used in?
My DV7T idles around 70degrees F. This includes surfing the web and watching youtube vids. The temps your seeing are even slightly higher then the ones I see when im playing Crysis for an hour or more. Something seems wrong with your comp.
Here's a pic of my temps after an 1.5 of Crysis WH and the current temps from just surfing the net tonight. :

It really depends on the laptop you have, but I think for any laptop those are a bit high. How old is it and when is the last time you cleaned it out for dust?
I managed 86c playing trackmania for the first time, too, can't be good for the 9600 >.> -
I got this laptop in March I believe and it's still under warranty, I haven't cleaned it out since I got it.
@OneSlickDV7T I would kill for those temps... -
If it is a 15" model the temps are alright, mobile AMDs are rated for 100C. You could try undervolting it if you haven't already.
-
What about BSoD? What are the chances of it.
-
You'll know when you get it.
As long as you test for stability when undervolting (IntelBurnTest is the best program to use for that, standard stress level is enough), you will be fine. My temps dropped 10C after undervolting, so i think the 15 minutes it takes to do a stress test are totally worth it. -

Just messing with ya! I believe there was a problem with some AMDs running way hot! I would send it to HP and get a completely new notebook! -
There have been lots of overheating reports with Intel laptops too. It's not anything to do with the CPUs, it's the lame cooling that HP uses.

So I should just give it to the shop my laptop is under and they should be able to repair/get me a new one? Sounds good.
Hey guys me again...Laptop temperatures...
