You should mention your notebook model at least, and your running operating system too.

I have exactly the same problem ATM, with a dv5-1025el and Windows 7 RC. Found no solution yet.

HP HDX16 running Windows 7 64bit ultimate. It was working prior to me doing a fresh OS install and now its not.

I was dual booting Vista 64 and 7 64, however I decided to trash Vista and just use 7. So i formatted my hard drive and did a fresh 7 install. Now hibernate doesnt wanna work. Is it a power driver?

I don't use hibernate, but... have you flashed in the latest BIOS? HP posted a new one for Win7 for the dv4/6/7. Might make a difference?

not just bios, but all of your device drivers need to be up to date. Having bad/stupid drivers that do not work well with hibernation are a prime suspect in problems like this.

And have you overridden any power saving settings in device properties?

Out of the box, hibernate and sleep work just fine.

Well, it's a relatively new computer. Make sure you have enough space on the boot partition. And make sure hibernation is not disabled (obvious, but you never know.)

Are your video drivers up to date? Hibernate depends a lot on the latest video drivers.
