    Hi,

My computer details are in my sig. - I've had my laptop for about 3 months now and it's been awesome. Everything working perfectly.
In the past 3 days or so, I've noticed some problems, though.
When I start up my computer and after it's done loading, my CPU core1 and core2 both get very high. And my CPU Usage is up around 100. I checked my processes, and explorer.exe is using about 60 CPU cycles.
This is causing a lot of problems- my fan is louder since my cpu is generating more heat, and programs are loading slower.

The only way for me to fix it is to close the explorer.exe process and then start it up again and it seems to act normal. (until i restart my computer).

So, what can I do to fix this problem???

I've updated my computer, run scans, everything...

BTW, youtube videos seem to stream a lot slower lately even though my connection is still very fast. Not sure if this is related at all though.

    Thanks!

I noticed the same with my DV5T. I have only one browser running and it showed about 50% cpu usage. changing from "power saver" to "high performance" does not make any difference.

I thought that was becausse of HP bloatware. I then formatted and did a clean Vista install. but the cpu usage remain high for only one browser running. this happened once in a while, not all the time. as I am typing this post, it shows 6% cpu usage. but other time, it shows 30 to 50%.

    my cpu is P7350

Use this to see if you have rogue programs that are legitimate at start up which are giving you this issue.
