I just purchased a new HP DV6565CA. I like the laptop, but if this noise can not be resolved it is getting returned. The noise is not coming from the laptop, but it is coming from the AC adapter. (the rectangle converter part of the adapter). It is a very loud, high pitched noise. It makes the noise at all times even if it is not plugged into the laptop, although it does gert louder when plugged into the laptop.
What should I do? Is this a common problem or did i just get stuck with afaulty adapter? Return the entire laptop to the store or contact HP?

I phoned HP. They are sending me a new ac adapter. Should that fix the problem, or is a loud AC converter a common problem?
Could the computer be the reason the AC adapter is making a loud noise? maybe the computer is the problem?
