I am using the laptop in my sig and keep getting this highpitched buzz that is coming from my AC adapter. I wouldnt say its very loud, but if you leave the AC adapter on the desk its noticeable. I told HP about the problem and they have send me a new one. Unfortunately, the sound is the same, leaving me to believe its normal. Now I simply put the AC adapter under the desk instead of on it, and then I dont hear it anymore. Its not that I mind the sound, but a faulty AC adapter can hurt your system.

Anyone else had this "problem" with recent HP laptops or with this model in particular?

I think they all make a little buzz sound , but iI keep mine on the floor as well . if I keep it on the desk a faint buzz can be heard , of course i'm over 50 so your ears might be more sensitive to the noise . all those Ozzy concerts did me some good i guess

Many cheap AC adapters make buzzing sounds. My Xbox 360 power brick makes a slight whine also, as does my Toshiba brick.
