I've heard that some of the laptops get a little hot on the bottom after prolonged use. Is there a way to get around this or are there certain HP's that don't get as hot as others. Thanks in advance for the help.

Alot of laptops use desktop processors (ie. P4 in zd7000). Mine gets warm after prolonged intensive use. THey do sell cooling pads and external fan systems that you can buy relativly cheap. I can't really recommend one since I haven't actually bought one. But if and when I do I would like one that is quiet and consums little to no battery power from my laptop. Best Buy as at least one of these devices just search their site. Good luck.

I was very much impressed by all positive reviews all over the net for zt3000. i purchased zt3000 from HP shopping online. i must say it looks awesome. my configuration includes 1.6GHZ, 512ram, dvd writer, Intel 2200 802.11b/g and 64MB video card. everthing look fine as i opened the laptop form the package. as i played some dvds i felt little warm on my lap. when i looked at the bottom, to my surprise, the fan was still. though, it was not hot it was warm n i had connected to ac power. then i tried different things like using battery to see if the fan rotates. then i called the tech support,
but they were not able to give me an answer.i ran the laptop for 5hrs continously with ac power, but the fan just didn't rotate. form one of my friend i found out that since it has centrino tech, the thermal settings might be set such tht it doesn't rotate unless it's very hot or some pre determined value is reaached.
can anybody who has this model or any centrino model help me find out what's going with my fan. I love the laptop but this issues bugs me. please give me ur feedback. Thanks. Suresh.
