Hello! Newbie here. Could someone please show me step by step on how to intall the Synaptics Touchpad Utility/Driver. I had installed XP Pro on my Compaq Presario V3617tu.

I can't seem to install the utility/driver using the .exe file provided by HP-Compaq. When I install via the setup file at the SW folder, the driver installs but there is no way to configure the touchpad for enhancements like the horizontal-vertical edge scrolling. Its just like a generic basic touchpad.

    Thank you very much.

Have you posted this information inside of the Dell Laptop section of the forums? There would be more people that will be able to help you there than in the HP section of the forum.

I'm not too familiar with Dell's and I don't know if the newer models that have Vista on them by default are even compatible anymore with XP. I'll do a little research and see what I can find, but my advice would be to go into the Dell portion of the forums to post and search.
