I used a guide before that worked wonders; loved it. The left half of the touchpad below the bottom line worked as a left mouse button, and the right half as a right mouse button. Everything else worked as normal Touchpad (gestures, pinching/zooming, etc.)

I installed the updated drivers, and now lost my settings. I have searched hi and low all over the internet for the guide I used, or the software I used (can't remember if I did or not), but have found nothing on this particular subject.

If anyone can send me a link, or give me a quick guide on how to bring typical trackpad mouse buttons onto the HP Touchpad, you would be my hero forever!

Mine was behaving the same way after I updated the drivers.

    1. Go into the Properties for Synaptics ClickPad (I went into Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> then clicked 'Settings' under 'Synaptics ClickPad V8.1) .
    2. Highlight the 'Clicking' entry (second from the bottom), by single-clicking on it. Mine was selected by default, as yours probably is. LEAVE IT checked.
    3. You'll see a gear icon on the right side of the highlighted line. Click on it.
    4. Change 'Corner Click Action' to 'Secondary Click (Context Menu, Special Drag)'
    5. Click the 'Close' button.
    6. Click the 'Apply' button.
    7. Click the 'OK' button to close the Synaptics ClickPad properties.

You should be good to go now.
