I had it for 4-5 months. It was good and all, but the laptop and HP Pavilion laptops in general have really bad cooling. The laptop used to get VERY hot, try searching hp pavilion dv2000 heat in google and you'll find a lot. The #'s after dv2 just depend on what's inside. Mostly the same. I don't recommend it. It used to get so hot, that after a couple hours on a hard surface, even the windows effects would lag.

Think so. My cousin owns a dv2799se ( which was the one i was so obsessed with ) but the left HDD temps was just too unreasonable. :)

HP models with AMD processors and models with discrete graphics (mostly Intel processors) generate a lot of heat. The Intel models with integrated graphics seem to manage heat much better. In the dv2000-models, the problem is magnified compared to the dv6000 (15.4") because of the smaller casing.

The new dv4t with integrated graphics is probably the coolest running 14.1" HP.

integrated gfx are the best minus the decent graphics rig :)

    less risk of overheating :)
