    Hello,

    Does anyone know if it is possible to switchout the dv7t qe 2012 model keyboard to a backlit version. I have the non backlit, and want to move it up to the backlit version.

    I see this Envy 17 keyboard on ebay, might it be compatible???

    Since there is an option to have backlit or not i'm assuming it is possible. You might have to just buy one from hp, since these computers are brand new you probably wont see any parts on ebay for a while. And if you do end up buying one from hp, you can throw a colored piece of cellophane under there and make it whatever color you want.

    It has been discussed a lot regarding backlit keyboard in previous threads. You can, if you have the model which supports backlit keyboard (with ivy-bridge processors)

    HP parts department states they dont sell the backlit keyboard separately. So the question is, has anyone found out where one can purchase a backlit keyboard for the HP dv7t. Does it use the same as the envy 17? Those are listed on ebay.
