    How can I turn off my Nvidia 8400gs and use intergrated?

    You don't have an integrated card, you only have a dedicated one. The feature only is on Sony's SZ series, and newer Montevina based laptops.

    I read somewhere that they have both and that you can switch between. Im just trying to save battery life and have a little less heat.

    You only have the 8400m GS, you cant have both on a dv6700

    Where did you get this idea?

    He's talking about the new hybrid SLI with certain Nvidia graphics cards. However, HP does not support it. :(

    or may i suggest that can we underclok the gpu so that it wont heat so much?

    Nvidia gpu's already underclock automatically to save power, its called powermizer. Even so, the nominal power required to run a dedicated card is still more than an integrated card.
