do the hp pavilion line of laptops have manufacturer malfunctions (such as dead pixels, grainy screen, buttons that dont work etc) that warrant a replacement?
im especially looking at the dv6500t laptops
this is because im from canada, but i ordered from the states, which means that if anything messes up, sending it back to the states and THEN to hp would be the biggest hassle ever. i just want to know how much i should worry about my laptop coming next week.
i know there are a lot of problems listed in these forums about people needing to send it back to the company several times for replacements, but im hoping the chance of that is 1:1000 and that these are just isolated cases, and the other 999 hp pavilion owners never experience any major problems and live happily ever after without ever speaking out on these forums
.. in short, i just hope that my laptop will not die on me =(

It's impossible to know exact numbers, actually, it's very hard to give any numbers. HP's consumer lines are on par with all of the other companies' consumer lines, including Dell, Toshiba, Sony, and Gateway.
Everything's based on a little bit of careful maintenance, and a lot of luck. If you want a very reliable machine, purchase business class machines.
How common..
