Hey everyone, so I have a pesky stuck pixel here.. and here's the kicker, I had it since I pulled it out of the box (from BestBuy) 2 days ago. If I can't remove it soon, I'm calling them up and inquiring about a replacement.

It's only one stuck pixel, but it's a nuisance. I've googled how to get rid of them, but everyone redirects me to software I have to pay to use.

Soo, anyone know how to fix a stuck pixel? Please tell me!

A stuck pixel is a manufacturing defect. Always on or always off.

Sometimes, VERY rarely, it is possible to 'fix' a stuck pixel by repeatedly banging away at it's exact location with software designed for the job.

Manufacturers and sellers have what is known as an acceptible stuck pixel' policy. This ranges from 1 or 2 to 10 and more. You will have to demonstrate that the number of stuck pixels on your panel exceeds the return threshold before the seller will even think about a return.

    Hmm, damn.

It isn't really that bothersome, but since I know it's there, I guess it's my OCD kicking in, because every single time I see it, I get mad and despise it..

Since you got it from Best Buy I would return it, I think they have a N Day Return/Refund policy and they will likely replace or refund your purchase price.

BestBuy has one of the most restrictive (good luck) bad pixel policies around.

    Plus a 15% restociing fee.

From the Best Buy website (return policy)

    Return and Exchange Period
You can return or exchange purchases within the timeframes below.

•14 days for computers, monitors, projectors, camcorders, digital cameras, iPad, tablets and radar detectors
•30 days for all other products
•45 days for all products for Reward Zone Premier Silver members*

since the OP said he only had the laptop for 2 days I believe he would be covered by the 14 Day policy
