Hi everyone. Let me just start of by saying that I am very disappointed in the quality of my laptop. I won't go into detail, but I believe I have narrowed the main issue down to a faulty processor. I have put off calling in for my warranty for almost six months now because 1.) I was never entirely sure what the problem is and 2) I have no way to prove that there really is something wrong with my laptop. Regarding 2), it is an issue that can only be seen when doing specific actions, such as running a 3D game or rendering a video. I am afraid that they will simply look at my laptop, run a virus scan, and brush it off as if nothing is wrong.
Now, I made this thread because I don't actually know how to go about doing this without getting the runaround. I don't need someone telling me I just need a virus scan or that I need to pay HP money to fix my computer. Does anyone have any experience with this?
My laptop is an HP Envy 14t-2000 CTO (the i7-2670QM processor is custom) under the manufacturer's warranty, which states a 2-year limited warranty.
For such an expensive laptop, I wouldn't expect the processor to bail on me so quickly. And now my wireless card appears to be failing as well. I'm at a loss. :/
Thanks everyone.

Since you own an Envy, you have Concierge support. Call them, explain the problem you are having. The Concierge techs are pretty solid...they will help you diagnose and even set up the RMA to have the machine sent to the depot in Nashville, if necessary. There are many ways that they can troubleshoot your problem...and I guarantee that running a virus scan isn't one of them...

Never put off getting your computer fixed. When you first notice a problem, call in and report it.
As for computers not having problems that's unlikely since the more complicated the machine the MORE likely something will fail. That isn't of course, justifying poor workmanship though. Just makes sure the record shows that you have fault so you will be covered if and/or when it fails completely.
How do I go about getting my laptop repaired (it is under warranty) without getting the runaround?
