Title pretty much sums it up. I got the plate off and replaced the RAM but I'm not sure how to get the HD out and don't want to try to force anything. Also, does anyone have a direct link to the manual? I couldn't find it...

    Thanks.

Thanks for the link but I'm still not getting it. For starters, if its done the same way, I'm not finding the screws for "Loosen the two captive P1 Phillips-head screws that secure the hard disk drive cover to the bottom of the notebook."

edit: BTW, the reason this didn't make sense to me is because I somehow payed no attention to the "drive cover" part and thought there were more screws...

I got it figured out. Its kinda like the link but with a cable involved. Once the cover is off, the cable is the only thing to disconnect. It was wedged in fairly good but it does come out. Thanks again for the link.

No worries, I guessed it couldn't be much different.

As I stated I couldn't find the media for your model, could you please give me more info on weather it's a Pavilion, OMNbook, 500 notebook, Compaq or whatever and I'll try to find you the right media in case you need to lift the hood in the future, I'll post it if I do. :)

I had assumed it was a Pavilion but checked the HP site to make sure. The dv5/7 all list Pavilion in the name but the mine just says HDX 16t. I guess that makes it part of the HDX line. But yeah, I tried googling it and using HP's search but couldn't find the equivalent of the link you posted for my model.

To me it looks a lot like the DV7t and there isn't any media for that either that I can find, I guess they must be still writing the screen play before shooting.
