Hi,
just a quick question to those with experience.. How do you like your HP dv1000? Also, how's the physical construction handling the beatings?

I think HPs offer good value, but they are not ThinkPads.

Well, Thinkpads cost a lot more, so HP's have excellent quality for the price you pay. I don't own a DV1000, I wanted one badly, but I got a DV4000 in the end because there was a great deal on it.
I've tried out countless DV1000's at computer stores. I have to say it is one of the sexiest notebooks I've seen, very sleek, stylish and professional. But it looks a bit flimsy to be overall and I'd be afraid of dropping it. -
well i do have a dv1000 and so far i really like it havent had any of the problems people have posted about seems to be a machine of decent power and multimedia capable i have been playing some games on it doom 3 will play but a little bit jittery on the video at times other than that it performs very well going to upgrade my memory and a faster hard drive soon so i will post results of the hardware changes i make oh yeah i was meaning to ask does anyone know if this machine is dual channel memory capable its a celeron m 370 with a intel alviso-g i910gml chipset dv 1310us is the exact model :hp:

I have had mine for about 3 weeks now and think it's a great notebook for the price. I actually wrote a review that should be up in a few days.
