I've owned the envy 17 (great laptop btw) for over 6 months now and I'm not to big a fan of the envy 17's etching w/ flowering designs. I'm thinking about getting this:
Skinit.com: Phone Skins, Laptop Skins, iPod Skins, Gaming Skins: Personalization on Demand
how will this look on this laptop? I know it will lover the hp light on the lid, but will it cover the slanted edges of the lid? Also, is it just for the lid and not the inside?
Thanks in advance

I'm not sure if it will work. The brushed magnesium on the Envy won't stick to vinyl. (Unless they use an adhesive, but they said it was residue-free. So idk.)

yea thats what i was worried about. but if it does stick then do you think it will look bad? will it look like a regular shiny black laptop ( like it was made to be like that) or a messy cheap plastic thing with air bubbles

very true, but can someone who has purchased one ( a laptop skin) say how it is? Do you think it will come specifically made for the hp envy 17 with the hole in the right place?

i bought one that was apparently "made for my studio 15". when it came in the mail i slapped it on. it wasnt made for my laptop. it was longer than my laptop (left to right) and not as wide as it should have been (top to bottom). i kept it on for the sake of the money i spent on it, and two days ago i got fed up with it and peeled it off. the edges were getting thrashed since it wasnt flush, and it didn't look good. also keep in mind that any indentations will show under the skin.

See this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/not...s-custom-builds/545341-top-sources-skins.html
I no longer have a skin since HP "captured" my laptop to investigate the crash error related to YouTube, Firefox and Chrome. -
looks very good thanks for the link. i might get one now
How do you think the envy 17 will look with this?
