I'd like to go with the AMD based system since it is less expensive. How do the AMD based DV5 systems compare to the Intel based ones?

    For what tasks?
For everyday usage, you wont notice a difference. :)

Hi Talin, thanks for your comments.

Is there a difference on battery life? I've heard that Intel manufactures better mobile chips.

How about heat issues? Does the AMD based system run hotter?

Way better integrated graphics on the AMD side, better battery life on the Intel side.

AMD is a bit slower and runs hotter, but the advantage as mentioned it the IGP power. Generally, both are more than enough for everyday tasks. Go with what's cheaper.

I always chose intel CPu's because they come with other intel based chips on mainboard. For instance; wireless card.. you always better of sticking with intel chipped wifi cards... if you chose amd, it will come with a crappy wifi chip.. Am I right?

    ROFLMAO :)
INTEL WIFI CARDS ARE THE CRAPPY ONES!
the AMD Puma platform based DV5Z uses ATHEROS cards...which will kick Intel's *** any day anytime anywhere...
    ask anyone!
Atheros is the best Wi-Fi solutions provider out there!
