Hi,
I am interested in purchasing an HP NC8430 laptop. The laptop in question has the lower of the two resolutions available. I am concerned that the quality of the screen will be pretty average. I feel that in some ways a glossy screen over the matte would be preferable. Could someone please tell what the screen is like to use and whether they would prefer a gloss screen? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

The matte screen on my nc8430 is very good at its highest resolution and its WSXGA. DVD movies and games are crisp and vibrant. Personally if a glossy screen option was available and if I could afford it, I would but right now I can tell you that I am not missing anything.

If you do alot of textwork and non-graphics activities, the matte screen is much better. Especially if like to take notes in class or use your computer around lighting. The glossy screen hurts my eyes in that regard. The glossy might have some advandges in graphics work, although I find it to be pretty minor.
I am unsure about the low-res, although the WSXGA+ screen is a wonderful screen. Great for gaming and the such. -
Yep, the matte screen is softer on the eyes.....
How good is the screen on a nc8430?
