How long Does it take HP to ship custom notebooks?

Just posting my laptops journey for benefit of those wondering if their laptops will arrive early and to also find others who have ordered lately to find out if their laptops came early. I ordered on August 1st at around 5 P.M. estimated ship date is August 14th. Currently my order is still in the processing stage. I have hope it will possibly arrive early as the estimated ship date for the same specification system today has a ship date of August 14th too.

ugh. Waiting game!! My hp pavilion shipped the 18th and is in Narita Shi Japan now. Anyone know where it will go next? I thought it was on a plane straight to Memphis (found a FedEx flight on flight aware that I could have sworn went along with the shipping info starting in Shanghai). But in the middle of the flight it was ''in transit Narita Shi Japan"

My only problem is that the box just sat in Chongqing for like 5 days .

Expected delivery by 10/22 if there are no delays.

 

I am also following a laptop delivery, it sat in Shenzhen from Thursday Oct 15, until Tuesday Oct 20.

 

I guess our laptops are being shipped in the same container or pallet.
The question is why is FedEx stalling deliveries ?

 

FedEx describes the service as "International Economy Distribution" -- I'm guessing they are aggregating a large number of non-priority items until a plane is full.

My Spectre 360 arrived early.

Ordered 10/13 with a listed ship date of 11/4.. Shipped from China on 10/22 and hit my door in Arkansas on 10/26.

 

Here Goes:

Ordered 2/22 (Saturday) with a ship date of 3/3 (Thursday) and estimated delivery date of 3/11 (Friday).
[Edit]: Today is 2/29. Throughout the entire day when I checked the order status, the HP website said it could not find my order. I assumed this was because it was about to ship, and my suspicions were confirmed a moment ago. Expected delivery is 3/4 (Friday) to Virginia, even with the dreaded "Package received after FedEx cutoff."

Also for those interested, HP Customer Service told me your order status won't change from "Processing" until the order has shipped, in which case it will change to shipped. I saw a few other places where people were worrying that their order status had not changed from "processing" to "building."

I joined this forum just to complain about how long it is taking to receive a Probook 450 G3. Customization was not exotic. Just an upgrade in processor and memory and removal of fingerprint reader. Ordered it May 30. Estimated shipping date was June 14 which didn't happen. I called them on June 16 to find out what was going on. Was told it's still in China and something to the effect that they'd expedite it. As of June 20 it's still being processed with the same ship date and supposed to arrive June 22 which I'm quite sure it will not.

Update: it did arrive today 6/22....damaged have to send it back. It came via UPS not Fed EX. When he handed me the torn box, my heart sank and when I opened and saw the torn plastic wrap and looked to see a dent.
I never got any tracking information link via email like I was told by cust. service. So I guess if you want it sent by fed ex you have to get something other than standard shipping and if you want tracking information you have to set up an account. Which I didn't want to do and get a bunch of spam from HP which is happening anyway. If only Dell had decent laptops with an optical drive I'd of ordered from them. I've never had problems in 3 shipments and I can understand their cust rep people.
update 7/6- Replacement laptop received in 2 weeks. 1 week earlier than the est. del date.
Set up an account. The tracking number was set up for FedEx (invalid number when I click it) but again delivered by UPS with no way to track or know when it was coming

 

UPDATE: The shipment info has been generated and according to FedEx it is to be shipped on 7/11/16 with an expected delivery date of 7/15/16. Granted it is quicker than the original estimate by HP. Now hopefully mine is one of the quicker ones and I receive it earlier than that.
I just hope it arrives in pristine condition. I also have directed that FedEx hold it at the nearest location. Which thankfully is only 2 miles from home and is on my way home from work.

So I joined to share my current info with HP order processing taking more than a week to update/change. Below is a copy and paste of what I posted on the HP support forums.
The order date was 7/1/16 with a expected ship date of 7/13/16 and expected delivery date of 7/21/16.
So it takes 2 weeks from order to shipment? Then almost another week to receive shipment? I know it can be earlier but seriously?

I'm just wondering why my new Envy x360 is still in "Processing" after 5 days? When I know it doesn't take that long to test. I also know that by 4:00PM EST it is 4:00-5:00AM the next day in most of China. The only change to the standard build is the UHD display. Since the display is the only real possible change to the standard config then there should be some already built like that. Also since I didn't have any software/services added it should be just off the shelf.
It just doesn't make any sense why they wouldn't have 100+ pre-built of the only 3 hardware configs available on this model.

All of the other physical hardware specs can not be changed with this model.

Since there are only 3 physical hardware options it would be in the customers best interest (I know a foreign concept today) to have those 3 pre-built waiting for shipment. But hey what do I know. I don't run a multi national corporation that only sees it's bottom line.

What is really sad is that this is still going on 4 years later and it seems to have gotten worse. I have been waiting for my computer to be released from Shanghai for over 5 days. I am about to make my first payment on a computer I don't have. Disgusting.

 

Any recent experience with HP laptop shipping times from China? Mine has been getting scanned a lot in China but doesn't seem to want to leave...

Hoping it actually comes on the scheduled date, but not optimistic given that the scheduled delivery is on Monday but it's Friday and it's still in China...

 

Mine looks similar; delivery expected on 12/14.
How about those Chinese working on both Saturday and Sunday? Poor guys.

Mine finally made it to Memphis after spending a few days in Japan. Been there for around 24hrs and no sign of it being on its way to upstate New York yet. Original estimated delivery date was today but FedEx has changed that to tomorrow (Dec. 12). Hopefully that's the only delay, but I've been checking flight schedules for FedEx flights between Memphis and Syracuse (yes, I'm obsessed, I know) and I don't see any scheduled for today, so not optimistic...

Any update on yours I'm sure you got it but ive been watching mine trying to figure out times and everything, I sitting at the last in transit Shanghai looks like I'm waiting to enter japan like yours. I figured it would have left from Shanghai intl airport but FedEx must not go that route. I'm curious as to the rest of my wait jumping through Japan and finally entering the states. Yours went to Memphis hub wondering where it was delivered to, mine will be going an hour or so from Chicago so wondering if I'll come through Memphis or what.

It showed up this morning about 20 minutes before I had to walk out the door to go to work. So I was able to unbox it but didn't get to play with it since it was freezing cold still. Now I wait till I can get off work and check it out super pumped
