After the hp case manager tell you that they are going to replace your notebook, how long does that process take? In my case I was told by my case manager that they were going to replace my notebook on August 27th, has anyone had this experience before? how long has the replacement taken to ship?

did you have to ship yours in right away? will they send the replacement when they receive the one to be replaced? how does all that work?

They will give you a RMA number (return authorization) and they give you a choice to either return your defective item to Fedex pasted with fedex labels that they mail you or simply that the fedex guy will come and collect the piece. In either case you will be given a RMA number in case of replacements. Did you get one?

Depends. You'll likely need to ask the HP case manager. Should be able to provide the estimated time to you.

Are they replacing with a new system or refurbished system?
If refurbished, likely faster. If brand new, sometimes they have to custom-build + ship if you have a customized system.

I got a paper from fedex telling me to return the old one in 5 days after receiving the notice or 3 days after receiving the replacement...and the case manager told me that they would have to custom build it for me, that it would take around 2 weeks...

Well, if it taking 2 weeks that clearly means they are ordering you a brand new laptop and building it for you. That is actually a pretty small wait time considering *cough* some vendors are having supply issues.

Maybe I can give you a decent replacement estimate after my lemon gets replaced.

It will normally take two weeks total for your replacement to end up on your doorstep from the moment you initiate the process.

However backorders, which are incredibly common for Graphic Cards can delay your replacement by a week or two.

    HP SUCKSSSSSSS

I received my replacement unit and guess what???
ITS DEFECTIVE! it has a problem on the screen that when i move the laptop the screen goes off and on, only when i move the lid a hundred times it goes on again, ...seems like the cables to the screen are broken, I spoke to the case manager again and she told me she was going to send me another one, this time a Pavilion...that it would be here in 3 days, because they were going to send it from the ones they already have there on the store, now Im pissed because of this and also because I like the Compaq line better! Im so pissed with hp...  I dont know what to do....
