Situation:
I first ordered a zv5000z in November, it went crazy the same night I got it and I promptly sent it back. Ordered a dv1000. About a week later I noticed the same configuration was $50 cheaper so I called and spoke to CSR who gave me some run around about having to wait 3 hours to talk to his supervisor. He eventually just advised me to send it back and get a new one, so I did.
It arrived early January, was great for a while, and then started acting up ONE DAY before the return period was up. Needless to say I was back on the phone getting a return number. Ordered a new one. It is now 2 days late and I just want to cancel the order but they say it's too late, I'll have to refuse shipment.
Dilemna: HP is now offering one stick of 512MB and I want to get one (I love the laptop, I just wish it would work). What do you think are the odds they'll refuse to let me return the one on the way?
Just don't want to get stuck with two laptops and be out $3000.

I'd say the odds are very slim.

Why risk refusing a shipment and losing that amount of money? If you just take the shipment you can get a memory stick for obviously less than what HP charges. Check www.compusa.com

UPDATE:
As I said before the unit was 2 days late so I called Customer Service again. They said if it doesn't arrive by 1/28 (free 2-day) call back and they'll let me know what's wrong. I got an email from a manager saying that the delay resulted from their supplier's delay with a component so I can call and cancel the entire order and get a $50 coupon. Just called, they were super helpful and cancelled the order. I have my $50 coupon and am ready to let loose once more. Yay!
Question: do I still want the dv1000? I'll post in the "WSIB" thread and see what turns up. LOVED the dv though. Pity.
How many returns before they say "Enough!"
