You know you wanna keep it..Your like me when you like something and has one little flaw your wondering if its worth returning it or not...I wonder how much this forum will play on returning the ENVY 15, I wonder if thats why HP blocked reviews, i guess everyday people wouldnt notice....I get mine on Friday and I'll see how bad it is and if its as noticeable..

Yeah but I'm also looking at the 17. When I started shopping for a new laptop I wanted 17 but decided to size down for the 15 because I assumed the IPS display would be worlds better

Why did your order get cancelled? Or did you have it cancelled?

Looks like HP is desperately trying to convince customers to keep the machine.
Wondering...what happened to the HP guy who was posting replies in the other thread??

anyways..did you go ahead with the RMA (or) took the $80 credit and keep the machine?

In the other thread another person was offered an 180 credit.

I hope the red/orange issue isn't as big as people here make it seem. Then I can try 2 get a $180 credit.

Yubeie, have you decided to keep or return ur ENVY?

If I'm going to return, which im considering, once im at the rma I probably won't be able to be convinced otherwise, though $180 might make me think twice. Especially after they never posted my review on the website.

As for the Hp guy, I'm sure he's in a tough spot, particularly since I'm convinced they have no plans to do anything about it, and it's not like he can come back and say its not actually an issue.

I am actually waiting for the HP Guy to post some kind of response. It just been a week since I got my laptop. If I do not hear anything...I am most likely going to return my machine..However the $180 dollar credit seems enticing...If they do offer it..I will be really confused...given that I can't find another machine that I can buy.

In short..at this point ..I am playing the waiting game.

Yeah, I really doubt the HP blogger will give us any sort of positive response at this point, if at all, outside of an apology from HP and a credit to those who are complaining - which is what HP does anyway for you if you want to return / complain on any product

I opted to return it. I'll order a 17-3D tonight. Hopefully it has less issues (apparently it has a busted keyboard?)

Same here, hopefully he posts back something next week, since hes at CES..Is the red/orange that bad or since everyone pointed it out makes it unbearable?

I was planning to keep it, but after using it for a couple of days I've decided to just return it. The screen isn't the only issue I have with it, but it's a major reason for the return. Other problems I have is the touchpad (clicking is just way too stiff and I'm not a fan of tapping) and the 15" size feels too big for me. I'm currently contemplating the m14x - better GPU and smaller size in trade of a lower resolution screen and heavier weight.

It is.. if you ask me. After staring at those reds..I thought I got used to it..But after watching a couple of movies...it was not fun....There is a constant lingering thought in the mind and I keep evaluating the reds.
n then I go back to my old laptop to find out that the problem exists.

Note that not all shades of red have the problem...only some shades are very obvious and you know that it is the wrong color.

So...yeah..its a mental thing..once you start doubting the screen..it just keeps going.

Its has been a frustrating thing ...I have been unable to find a good 13 inch machine...and finally compromised on the size...After having found most of things I need in this machine...the screen is hopeless.

I can't believe my ideal laptop hunt has been going on for about an year and half now..and I still can't find one!

Dam, I guess I might be returning it as well, which sucks I've been looking for a good laptop for few months and my current laptop the top right corner cracked..I guess I'm going wait until IVY bridge comes out.. Hopefully some manufactures have a surprise for us this week or something since CES officially started today.

I'm just excited to hear that there is a new Envy 15 model.

And with i7-2860qm, AMD 7960m, backlit keyboard and an optical drive this time? Sounds like a great machine!

It is slightly thicker than the previous gen Envy 15 models (1.11" thick vs. 1.03"), but still not too shabby. It's too bad they are not offering the dual Intel SSDs in Raid0 as an option this time - those are lightning fast.

I see you voted keep, but you don't even own the laptop.

    That's not very helpful.
