    Purchased about 2 years ago.

    Hp Pavillion dv4000
    Pentium M 1.6 Ghz
    512 MB RAM
In physically great condition. Runs fine as it should.

    Was hoping $500?

If I upgraded the RAM myself for cheap, would I be able to sell it for more?

    Thanks,
    - derek

No way. I saw a T5200 Core2Duo 2GB/160GB 15.4" Gateway notebook for $500 brand new yesterday at Circuitcity.com. DV4000 is a poorly designed laptop. It only looks nice. Mine died after 14 months. I know it was over $1000 when it was new (mine was ~$1300). I guess no one would be willing to pay more than $250 considering $500 can buy you a much better config laptop with warranty.

What GPU does your dv4000 have? Does it have an integrated Intel GMA, an ATi Radeon X700, or something else? The GPU also plays a role as to how much the notebook's worth.
