I'm trying to decide between the AG and BV screen (envy 15). I heard the AG screen is lower brightness and fuzzier than the BV. I'll be doing quite a bit of GIS map work and excel work and I love a bright/crisp display but will also be in the field a bunch and the AG might be a plus.

I found a four-second youtube vid and a couple of opinions, but am looking for more info before deciding. Anyone have some good side-by-side comparo's or opinions how big the difference is between them?

I have the AG and it is a great quality screen. It's only when you compare the BV and AG side by side that the difference is apparent. But if you're looking at just the AG, it will look fantastic. I turn down the brightness to 45% anyway so the brighter BV makes no difference. The color accuracy is better on the BV though.

My 2 cents: Go to an Apple store and compare the glossy and antiglare screens there. The difference is very close to the Envy's. Also, you have to decide whats more important: Color accuracy or sunlight legibility.

Thanks Kabobi. Good to hear the AG is no slouch. Any problems with fuzzy text with the AG HD display?

Anyone know the color accuracy % of the displays in relation to AdobeRGB?

The Apple store trip sounds like a good idea, too bad the nearest store is 1.5/2hrs away. I'll consider doing it anyway.

    ** UPDATE **
Well, a refurb ENVY 15 with i5 540m twin SSD's and HD BrightView display showed up on HP's small business site today. Price was good, so I ordered it along with a 3yr accidental coverage warranty. I suppose I can always get an aftermarket AG screen protector if needed.
