I was wondering if it is usefull to constantly turn on/off the bluetooth module in my notebook via HP wireless assistant? Will it save power so that I can see an improvement in battery life or any other advantages?

The bluetooth module is integrated into the Wireless card, so if you hit the switch for the wireless card, it will turn off the bluetooth as well. As for your question about power consumption, you won't notice a great improvement of battery life, if I had to guess it might be 15 minutes or so, if that.

There are no other advantages to turning bluetooth off, if you don't use it though I guess there's no point in you leaving it on. Just personal preference I guess.

the BT module itself is seperate from the wireless card, though they share the same ON/OFF switch. You can enable/disable them seperately through HP wireless assistant manger or Vistas Device Manager.

As Envision said, it should be around 10-15c mins battery life. I suggest you keep it off if its not in use.

Flipfire, was the bluetooth always separate from the wireless card? Because I used to own a dv6000z and I could have sworn that the bluetooth was integrated into the wireless card. I'm probably wrong, but I'd just like a solid answer on whether they were always like that or not.

    Thanks

The bluetooth is a separate module, but it is wired to the same physical button as the wireless module.

That is the only advantage of the HP wireless assistant: it permits the BT and WiFi to be turned on/off independently. If you only have one or the other, not both you do not need the HP Wireless Assistant installed.
