Hello, all. I am awaiting a luxurious HP Envy 17. I plan to sell my current laptop, a dv6000T with 2GB of RAM, Vista, a 320GB hard drive, a remote, thousands of songs, a standard 6-cell battery and a 9-cell extended-life battery. It is 3 years old. Cosmetic damage is a peeling sticker, four keys with no lettering, a tiny lid scratch on the bottom left and some fade mark on the left mouse button. The laptop looks very good, and people always tell me that. I can throw in a TV tuner. The only damage to functionality is recent. The black plastic thing atop those gold prongs in a USB port broke off into my cell phone USB cable. The USB port is still fully functional. It will power any USB device flawlessly, although sometimes a tap is necessary to make the computer recognize a device like a drive. I was really peeved by that because the laptop went 3.5 years with no damage to functionality whatsoever, and then that happened as I got ready to sell it. Anyway, I want to know what I should sell it for. I hope to make something worthwhile.

I would recommend selling it on eBay if you have absolutely no need for it anymore. You are not going to get a lot of money for it I would guess max $200 and that's a long shot. If I were you I would keep it for backup/spouse/kids

We would need to know which processor is included with your notebook. That's the heart of the computer and can greatly affect the value.

If it is a Celeron, then you're looking at maybe $100-200.

If it's a higher end Core 2 Duo, then you could get about $200-400.

Until we hear back, we can't give an educated appraisal. It would be negligent and ignorant to do so.

Regardless, eBay would be the route to go.

Laptop computers are really really cheap now and anyone can get a good enough machine for $400 now. I'm guessing you could sell it for about $200-300.
