I know that there isn't much bloatware on the envy in the first place, but I really want to do a clean install of Windows (probably Professional instead of Home Premium). Should I use the drivers and software (the stuff from HP that I actually want) in the swsetup folder or should I manually download everything? If its better to manually download the stuff, where should I get it HP or other (intel, ATI, etc)?

Also, I have the Envy 14-2020nr (SB).

    Thanks in advance.

Manually download the Intel WiFi (use 14.0.0 and not newest), ATI gaphics, and Synaptics touchpad and place them on a USB or another partition.

Reformat using Windows install disk. And then install the drivers you downloaded earlier. They are the important ones during reinstalls to get to a useable computer.

    Download drivers from there ^

I probably should have mentioned I have a SB Envy 14 (2020nr). Are those drivers still good for me?

Also what about the HP coolsense and other stuff if I want it?

    Nope, 1st gen.

The ones I mentioned are the important ones that you want right at install because (for example) Intel WiFi doesnt install automatically on my Envy 1xxx so I need those on my computer/usb or else I need to go online to download them (which means I need to go wired since wireless doesnt work).

Eventually you want to get all your drivers installed.

Definitely backup your SwSetup folder. Some times the online drivers page leaves out A LOT of software that can only be found in SwSetup folder. Also, registering the product with hp and logging in then viewing the driver page on hp's site unlocks more software (personal exp from envy 1st gen beats).
