    Hi,

I have a Compaq Presario 720CA that I am trying to setup for my kids.

The computer has no CD-Rom, but only a DVD-Rom

The hard drive had been wiped clean from a previous crash. We don't have the Recovery CDs/DVDs.

I have created a slipstreamed version of windows Xp/SP2, and tried to boot from that CD, but the system will not allow it. It reports Non-System disk or disk error

I now want to try burning a bootable DVD, and see if it would allow it.

Any thoughts or related experiences or assistance ?

    Warmest regards, Emma

Do you really think that your "DVD-ROM" drive does not read CD's? There is a problem with your created CD but not with your DVD-CD-ROM. Try to get the Installation WinXP CD and you will be set to load a new syatem.
