I have a HP Pavilion dv6700 notebook with AMD Turion 64 X2, 2.00 GHz with 3.00 Gb. This piece of junk keeps overheating whenever I play dvds or games. The screen freezes (lines, pic freeze, color disoriented), and the whole computer freezes to the point where i can't do anything, and have to reboot.

So if anyone can tell me how to adjust the fan speed for this laptop, please help. Other suggestions are good too.

I also have good ventilation, the laptop fan is working (not enough), there is no dust clutter.

Get that sucker repaired if it's under warranty for sure. Otherwise, you might try Speedfan, it's got kind of spotty support for notebooks but worth a shot.
