OK. Just got DV2000T. A reinstallation is not neccessary for me but I do need more partition to get things organized. If you ask me to put everything under a big system drive C:, all stuff will hide themself from me quickly.
I have formated recovery partition and rescure that 10GB and I am using it as drive D: to store work/research related stuff. Now I need one more partition E: to store entertaining stuff.
I tried that using Partition Magic 8 but it won't work. The notebook need to restart to finish that job. When it restarts, it gives me ERROR 893 and it says too many of this errors so the job is quited and nothing can be done.
Any tricks or software that does the job? Thanks a lot.![]()
BTW: I called HP and they don't recommend that so they refuse this type of support.![]()

I remember when I first got my dv5000, I ran into the same problem with that error code. I then tried with partition magic a few times till it worked for some odd reason. Keep trying partition magic till you get it to work or look for iso.image that's floating around the net, that you burn in a CD and boot from it. It has alot of good programes like partition magic and such. I used it once to create new partitions and other stuff, it worked like a charm. Oh, btw it's called Hirens BootCD.

You can try Window's manager - diskpart.exe in command prompt or if you prefer the GUI version diskmgmt.msc (type those in the RUN menu). I haven't used them but they do look fully functional
