    How to enable HP 3d DriveGuard in XP Pro?

    I see the HP 3d DriveGuard icon in the taskbar, but the status has a red cross in it. If I do "enable" in the settings, the settings pane shows a green check, but if I close it, and reopen, it still have the red disabled check mark.

    I did use CCleaner to disable some startup services --- could this be a result of that?

    EDIT: Darn, now I cannot uninstall HP 3d DriveGuard, add/remove programs hangs when I try to uninstall it :(

    Hmm ... can you reinstall the program? If so it might be able to "put back" any pieces that might have been lost via cCleaner.

    I uninstalled 3d driveguard using revo uninstaller. Then reinstalled the program; the problem remains. Was 3d driveguard active in your XP install?
