I'm inbound college student (Univ of Texas) and am planning on purchasing a dv9500t. The final review order page only lists the instant $150 off but I've seen some screen shots where people have this EPP (sp?) or APP for $200 so I could save an extra 50..

I've tried going to the "Higher Education" page on HP's govt/health/education store but it only has the business notebooks on sale and not the pavilions..help please!

You have to register an acount at www.hpshopping.com/education. I believe that once you register and log-in, it should say Academic Purchase Program at the top, at least it does for me. I don't know if it really $200 off because the discount increases and decreases in relation to the total amount. The good thing is that it is in addition to the instant savings so you do save a lot in the end. The APP discount is also good for stuff like ink cartridges, software, etc. Good luck!

It depends on how expensive your configuration is. The greater you spend, the more you will save I believe because the APP discount is a percent discount. So 15% off a $1000 is $150 whereas the same for a purchase of only $100 is $15. Then again, I noticed when using the APP discount, the price column has a "Percent Savings" and it decreased from 15% to about 13% after I upgraded my DV6500T. Overall, the $200 saved me more money than the APP discount.
