I am using nc6400, the sound driver is "Sound Max". With previous notebooks, I was able to set to "stereo mix" in the recording control to stream the mic input to speaker output. For nc6400, there's still an "stereo mix" option but checking it does not do the job.

I am sure the mic is working fine because I can test it within the Sound Max setting in Control Panel, and it also works well with skype. The sound from speaker has been input to the computer but cannot come out from the speaker at the same time.

Does anyone has any idea to enable this feature?

This probably isn't available because it would cause echoing, as the microphone would pick up the sound playing from the speakers.

Thanks for replying. It is an important function to me and I just want to know if there is anyway to turn it on.

For echoing, I can plug in a headphone so that the sound will not output to the laptop speaker.

Someplace in this forum this was talked about last week.
They had some sort of solution listed.
Lets see if we can find it. A registry hack or someting.

    Try the registry hacks here.

They did not work for me. But you may have better luck.
