Hi, I bought a HP DV6244US and I need to install Windows XP on it to run some applications. I have a legal copy of the software.

I have created the recovery disks from HP Recovery Manager to restore to factory settings if I wish.

I´d like to know what should I do to install windows XP and where can I get drivers for this version of windows (I know that I have to boot from CD to install XP).

    Thanks for any help

    Follow the guides linked below...

You might have to customize the steps since you are installing on a system which shipped with Vista. But the basic process of installing the SATA drivers remain the same. Just download the drivers from HP's website and follow either one of the guides.

The SM bus controller would be part of the chipset. Install the Intel chipset software and that should install the necessary drivers.

I would only recommend installing that program only if you have bluetooth as well as the wireless. If you just have wireless and no bluetooth then you can uninstall HP wireless assistant and let Windows manage the wireless connection.

I have no ides about the webcam though, maybe someone else might be able to help you out on that. Does the webcam show up in device manager, if so than try using a instant messenger like Skype, Yahoo/MSN messenger & see if any of these programs recognise the webcam.
