    Hi everyone!

I have been reading through almost all threads in this great forum concerning quality (dim) problems with HP:s notebooks, and mainly by the helpful information from Venombite, it seems like the only thing you need be sure about when ordering a HP is to get the new better Samsung LCD inside.

So, consequently, the BIG question is:
Is there someway to know if all relevant models (or a specific) are replaced with Samsung LCD:s by now?

    I’m about to order a HP nx8220.
The newest model comes with PM 2.13 1024/80GB X600 128 MB.
    The configuration I’m interested in is a PM 2.0 X600 64MB 1680x1050.

Is there reason to believe that this somewhat older model can have been “stored” in the stock for a long time and hence have the old (and in many cases) bad functioning LCD?

For me (and for others) it isn’t just enough to order the notebook and then decide whether I like the current screen or not – because many people have been reporting the problems showing up after some time, and then you can’t just send it back.

And also, it must be hard to decide if there is something wrong with the LCD if you can’t compare to another HP with the new Samsung LCD.

You don’t just want a LCD that is OK, you want the best possible, right?

Do you think it can be possible to get any information from the HP concerning how to get knowledge about which computers have the Samsung LCD and not have the LCD?
I have tried occasionally, but it’s hard to get support people even to admit there is a problem at all.

I would be VERY grateful for all thoughts about this issue!

    Best Regards Peter
