Just got it today and stumbling around with vista and trying how to make the recovery disks? Also my 120g HD is split beteen C:110mb and D:8.5MB... why was it done like this? Can the disks be double-layer type? I'm new at this so type slow(lol)!

The recovery disc program prompts you at startup, but if you ignored it, you can search for it in the start menu. Once it's running, it prompts you through step by step.

The 8.5 GB split is the recovery partition.

Thanks found it. I'm at the point where it informs how many DVD's or DL-DVD are needed... if I cancel now can I restart tomorrow once I get a DL-DVD? Or, should I just leave notebook on at this point until I get the DL?

Yeah, you can cancel it safely and restart the process once you get the DL DVD's.
