    hey guy,

I just bought my first laptop, its Compaq Presario V6155EA. Its Hard disk is 120GB and c partition is 100 GB and thats where the operating system is installed. I wan to create new partitions from this one (I mean C drive) without losing any data. I tried partition magic but it gave me errors.

Can anyone help me with this? I'll be grateful.

If you're using XP, you should be able to use Partition Magic, but you'll need to run "chkdsk c: /f" at a command prompt first, to correct any errors on the hard disk. Once that's done, Partition Magic should be able to do it's thing.

As Jim6172 said, if you have Vista, the built-in tool should work.
