Hello, I'm sending my HP Pavilion dv9000 (with 2 hard drives) back for repair under warranty and I'd like to remove both hard drives so I can back up the data (it won't start up now, but its not an HD problem). Do I need to remove the whole bottom cover to do this and if so how because I cant seem to get it off. Thank you.

Thanks, I got the two hard drives out, so I'm assuming they'd be compatible with a USB hard drive enclosure or do they have some kind of crazy HP-only
    pins?

Yeah, there is a proprietary adaptor but it fits over the regular SATA pins and should be easily removable.

Any recommendations for an enclosure that I wouldn't have to send away for? So far no luck on my own...

    Thanks
