Replacing the hard disk with an SSD shouldn't void your warranty, and it's relatively easy to do. Simply remove the bottom cover by sliding the cover switch, lift the cover away from the unit, remove the HDD from the caddy and replace it with the SSD, mount everything back to where it should be, and you're good to go.

yeah.
for windows 7 you will first want to go and back up the activation with abr.

step 2 on here.
I mean you could just use recovery discs instead if you don't wanna clean install but *shrugs* I'd still backup the win 7 activation so you don't have to call microsoft and spend 5-10 minutes getting a phone activation code. -

i sent them emails but all they said was i cant do it, not anything about voiding warranty but i will phone again thanks

Also, here's a great write-up with photos by Gertch, doing an Envy 14 optical drive/HDD transplant.

The Envy 14 hard disk is an end-user replaceable part, says so in the manual, so it will not void your warranty. Just create your recovery disks, take the old hard disk out, pop your new one in and run the disks.
The detailed instructions are in the manual that came on the little SD card with your laptop, but it's really one of the simplest component changes I've ever done, and you should be able to figure it out yourself anyway. -
Thanks Guys
