    How to upgrade to new HD w/o xp cd

    I got a new dv5116 with a 4200rpm hd.If i upgrade to a larger faster hd how can i upgrade without the xp cd(new laptop didnt come with xp cd)only a key.Any help for a newbie? Thanks :eek:

    Another program is Acronis True Image. It is pretty much the same as Ghost. Just incase you wanted another option.

    Will those programs just"image" the old contents of the hard drive to a cd?,this laptop only has a cd burner,so i can just remove the old harddrive insert the new one and then use the cd i created to install the "image" onto the new drive?Not requiring any drivers etc, after i install the new drive?Is Norton better than Acronis?Sorry for all the ??s I just dont have an xp cd becuase they didnt ship it with one and i dont want to keep to a point where i have the new drive installed and then need an xp cd.I do not want to do anything illegal either.Thanks
