I tend to not like the silver outside design because I scratch my stuff pretty easily.
Why has HP not made an All-black interior and exterior design for any of their laptops? I saw Best Buy has an exclusive all-black special edition, but I'd prefer to get a custom one.
I'd love it if they did.
I know Sony, Dell, Toshiba,Acer all currently have black exteriors on select models. I'd love it if my dv5000t that I just ordered yesterday was all black and not just on the interior (keyboard area).
----
On a side note, has anybody ordered an HPSkin for their laptop yet?
I Must say, I can't wait to order a skin, hopefully it'll look pretty nice.

Because they havn't.

HP is awesome isn't it? I am enjoying my DV4000 so much except for it's crap sound card.

Plus I never understood the difference between having alot of RAM and a mediocre processor and having an awesome processor and a good amount of ram. Obviously alot of ram and an awesome processor would theoretically be the best option, but the economics for me can't make it happen.
What exactly is the point of RAM? Does it help the computer run faster, or allow the computer to run more programs more efficient and smoothly? -
Easy answer: Racism.

I would say that the processor is more important than the RAM. The RAM is just memory that the OS can access at a fast pace. More RAM means more data can be made available to the processor at a fast pace rather than having to read it from say the hard disk. Say if you are playing a game (and lets assume that there is no video card present) that involves graphic elements to be retrieved and displayed. Then more RAM means more of these elements can be fetched from your hard disk and kept in the RAM when the game is running, and can be fetched very fast on demand.
The processor on the other hand is the heart of your system - in the very least the processor is responsible for how much data is read in each clock cycle (the processor speed), who and how processes the data... -
and of course you can buy additional RAM easily, but upgrading your processor is virtually equivalent to getting a new system.

My Compaq V3000 is a dark notebook. HP's new Imprint finish goes a long way to keeping scratches from happening. I have had my v3000 for a month and half and there is not a mark on it.
-
Howcome the imprint isnt' available to models with the black interiors? I would've loved to get it with my dv5000t.
-
-
Imprint Finish IS a finger print magnet though, but, unlike scratches, finger prints can be easily removed.
-
I love my HP, but I don't like the grapics card in it all that well . =-( It plays most games alright, but there isn't much you can push with the Radeon Xpress 200m.
-
HP Compaq Business laptops are available in black only. while still only preconfigured, there is a large variety of notebooks, unlike best buy's only special edition black model.
-
I don't like the new design of the silver interior with the black exterior. -
You got a good notebook, but the dv6000 is going to take it over. HP line of notebooks now have sort of the opposite look, of black on outside, and silvery on the inside.
-
You should get 2GB these since it's reconmmended now, not high end.
-
Color preference ismore or less a personal preference. I like the new look HP has chosen. I think it is much better than their previous designs. -
I would've preferred the "imprint" and webcam to come with my dv5000t.
-
If you like to multitask, browse with FF or Opera and a ton of tabs or do any gaming 2gb is what you should be looking at. If you have an integrated graphics card that is using system ram its even more important, though you probably wont be doing much gaming.
Howcome HP doesn't make any all-black?
