The latest bios for the Hp 8510P is supposed to do the following fixes :

    - Fixes issue that may occur at any time where the notebook may hang, or video display is corrupted.

For all we know now it does indeed fix the problem with the massivly under-clocked HD2600. Correct core and memory timings of 500mhz / 600mhz are now set. Even ocing the Hd 2600 is now possible. The problem with the fan not slowing down after using 3d applications seems to have been adressed with this new bios too.

But it seems the Vpu Recover errors and/or system crashes have not been fixed for all machines.

How about your 8510P ? Did this bios update work for you ?
