    Hi all,

I have a HP 8710p with XP pro, Quadro NVS 320 grahic card, 4Go RAM, T8300 processor, SP3, all drivers up-to-date....

When I play games, for a certain moment (can vary from 5 to 30 minutes) my game crash "you encountered a problem and son on..." and go back to desktop but... all is in 4 Bits colors and a resolution of 640*480!!

This happenned to all 3D game I played... Assassin creed, Unreal... and many others.

So I have done lot and lot of things :

    - re-install of windows
    - Update drivers for graphic and others devices (on etime with the CD, one time with the HP website)
    - Uninstall firewall and antivirus to see if that can change some things...
    - Change again graphic driver (test very drivers...normal, HP, laoptopvideo)

    Nothing change.

All my games are very smooth, no problem, full details but... after a moment.. BOOM crash, CTD and 4 bits colors!! Nvidia control panel disappear and freeze of my notebook...need to reboot manually and all its normal again...:-/

Don't know what to do, I have the notebook since... 10 days! :-/

Have you an idea of the problem?

did you try to install the 8700m gt drivers? the quadro nvs 320 is the same card as a 8700m gt. the 8700m gt drivers are better for gaming

In case of... have you a link for the driver you are using ? :)

Yes, all was uninstall, first by the control panel of windows, and in safe mode with driver cleaner.

I have tested the driver from MS update but nothing change, always crash after a moment :-/

    Solved

I have partitioned the harddrive with gparted live.

I then installed windows vista on the partition and after installing all the hp drivers for vista 32 business the games all run 100% now (I also installed any knowledge base windows updates related to vista and nvidia (about 3or4 of them))

At least we know its not hardware but software driver issues of a card designed to be used in vista in my opinion.

And i have the option to dual boot into xp for all my CAD apps :)
