Can you tell me how to get rid of this software?how can i uninstall it? And also i have seen another program:hp active support library,is it safe to remove?

id suggest a full re install of the OS, if its new, there must not be much to lose right? after that just sinatll the drivers from hp's website, and the sticky in this forum might be useful as well ( no activation with vista).

just backup whats important on an external source, and just restore thru the partition on your HD.

If it can't be deleted, you should just stop it from starting up at boot.

I agree with vert...you should definitely do a clean re-install of Windows. The guide to do this is located at http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=120228.

Once you've finished the clean install, you can find drivers for your dv5 by using the HP driver download page. Or, if you want the very latest drivers that support your notebook, go to dannyres's thread at http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=338874. Note that the drivers there are for the dv5t only (Intel processors).
