I have a couple of questions. I am planing on buying a Dv2000t or a dv2500t for college and I wanted to know some differences between a few features.

I know that the Santa Rosa core 2 duo in the dv2500t is the next generation over the core 2 duo 5300 that is in the dv2000t. Could anyone quickly outline the new features that the dv2500t gets from the next gen processor because other than the processor I do not see any difference in the 2 notebooks at all?

The other question I have is graphics. I do not see any decent Graphics cards in either of the systems. I know I should stay away from integrated graphics after some of the things I have read. I plan on doing some moderate gaming in college. I do not need some sickly overpowered system but enough to moderately play the games I want, mainly World of Warcraft at this point in time. So looking at the Dv2000t all I see is the nvida 7200. It will obviously be better than the fully integrated, but I also realize this might not be enough. Could anyone clarify if this would do the job on some games? I have also seen the posts about the new Graphics cards coming for the dv2500t. Is that worth waiting for or will it not be much more special than the 7200 in the dv2000t? I have not seen anywhere which particular card will be put into the dv2500t.

And third and final question I have is what kind of battery life differs between the dv2000t and the dv2500t.

Thanks for everyone that helps I would really appreciate the insight because I have narrowed it down I think to this line. I am also considering the 15 inch that is basically the same but it just feels so much bigger than the 14 and in college I don’t want to lug that around. It’s still an option however. The new dell that was leaked today also looks promising but I have not seen a release date on that so I don’t know if I can wait long enough for that.

well read around and you will find that the graphics cards will get better soon
WoW works well on them since it is not a graphics intensive game as most others. it will not be enuff for more demanding games though

santa rosa gives u better battery life due to the new power management system and the ability to shut down one core and keep one running, slightly better performance too and thats about it really

santa rosa offers long battery life, faster processor with the higher bus speed, it also has the new radience imprint (not that that matters, but still)- the x3100 integrated graphics in the 2500t is better than the 2000t - plus soon they will offer a dedicated video card with the dv2500t

and you can also update to the t7700 processor with the dv2500t (2.4ghz) - you would need to install it yourself, but it will work

the dv2000t, u can update to the t7600 - (2.33ghz, but lower bus speed - 667mhz) - but also would need to install yourself.

both will be able to update to 4gb of memory - despite what every single rep tries to tell you, it has been confirmed.

Driver support is big issue with dv2000t running Vista. Webcam and Audio driver are still not working properly on even new dv2000t system. Battery life and heat problem is much improved in dv2500t.

I would get the dv2500t if the extra $$ isn't a big deal. I think it can be had more just a mere few hundred more.

Well, you put in 2x2GB sticks and you get back 4GB total. Remember that Vista cannot apparently read more than 3GB in it's x86 edition...but I don't know if this is true or not.

According to the review on the site, the dv2500t has an improved screen over the dv2000t and also a better touchpad since it is made by Alps and not Synaptics and supposedly the touchpad was an issue on the dv2000t.

and today the dedicated graphics card is available for the dv2500t.
