Hello everyone! My laptop has a very strange problem that started last friday.

When i was using my laptop, it suddently crashed without any reason. This happened in both linux and Win 7 Operating systems. So i had to press the power button to start all over again.
But this saturday when i tried to power on the laptop, it was on for like one second and powered off by itself. I continuously tried to power on the machine. Some other times it stayed on a bit more time, and the caps lock and scroll lock light were blinking. Sometimes it gave to me the 2 flash light codes, sometimes 1 flash light code, and other times it was constantly blinking at the same frequency.

When i visited the HP.com webpage, there was the information that for 1 flash light code is a processor problem. the 2 flashing light code is for bios problem and that it would try recovery the next start. Well, it didn't.

Sometimes it turns on like there is nothing bad and wrong with it!

Then i have tried to downgrade de bios for a previous version, but the problem was still there.

    any advices?
    cheers.

This is probably the page you saw:
Blank Screen LED Error Codes - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

Just in case someone else runs into this same problem, they can see the blink codes there :)

You could remove the battery and power plug, then press the power button for 30 seconds and try booting. Unfortunately I don't have any definite answer, it could be CPU or motherboard, maybe something else and replacing those just for testing won't be cheap outside warranty.
