    Hi all

    my first post here
    i bought a HP dv 6000 2 months back
it got some problem with the windows
so i tried to reinstall it using the F 11 option
i used the option of backing up data files and just reinstalling windows . but in the middle my younger bro switched off the laptop using the power button when it was performing the task of backing up.
when i restarted the notebook and used the F11 again the PC recovery wizard started but now its not giving me an option of backing up the files
it just saysthat all data files will be deleted and the notebook will be set to factory shipped settings. i think some error with my hard drive as its not reinstalling the windows from a cd also and gives me a message " hard drive not found, make sure u have plugged it in". i went to a vendor so the hard drive and my files are showing thru DOS but not thru windows setup. it shows as totally free in windows setup.

can someone help me how can i recover my data files
they are very important. how can i use PC recovery to back up my files or any other way to recover them

    Thanks
