Ok. So today I got me a new router with 5GHZ wireless and I dont think the DV6T supports it,I wanted to know is there a way that I can replace my wireless card in the laptop and replace it with a good wireless card that's better than the standard one Hp gives and dual band?

Pretty sure both dv6t-6000 and dv7t-7000 have compatible 5ghz cards,

for 7000, check owner lounge I think. -
It does support it. If you didn't upgrade to the Intel Wifi w/ Bluetooth card, then the default HP card that comes with the dv6t only has single channel N (no 5GHz spectrum).
This is something I don't understand regarding the "approved" cards. I took the dual band Dell 1520 wifi card out of my old Alienware m11x and put it into my dv6t and had absolutely no problem. I did nothing special except install the drivers from the Dell website and it picks up all b/g/n networks, including 5GHz. -
you have a dv6t-7000 then I believe, the whitelist is lifted.

Ah, that explains a lot.
