    I already updated the bios.

    Can you be a little more specific about "APM"?

    AFAIK, APM has been dead since 2000.

    It may be an issue with the switchable graphics (when you unplug your notebook it may try to be going to the "power saver" gpu and not being able to).

    Have you tried updating the video card drivers from HP's site? Have you tried reinstalling them?
